The Science Fiction Book Club meets in central London on the second and fourth Mondays of the month and is open to both men & women who enjoy discussing the themes and issues found in Science Fiction Novels.
This is NOT a Book Club for blokes who work in IT to get overexcited about Lasers & Aliens. Seriously. It's not.
It's a Book club to read & discuss character-led SF novels for grown-ups at the more literate end of Science Fiction spectrum.
We read anything from Atwood to Zelazny that helps us become 'Well Read in SF'.
<------- People think we're fab, click here to read what people say.
Our books are usually from the 60's onwards and could include anything from Alternate history, Cross Genera SF, Cyberpunk, Dystopian Fiction, Feminist SF, Literary SF, Modern novels with an SF slant, Mundane SF, New Wave SF, Post-Apocalyptic SF, Short Story Collections or Space Opera.
Unlike some Book clubs we are INDEPENDENT, don't have our books chosen by a Book Shop, marketing department, TV Chat Show, publisher or any other commercial interest. Our book choice's are always about having a good read and a good nights discussion, not sales.
To celebrate our 1st birthday we were made Bookgroup of the month by Bookgroup.info. Hurrah for us!

The Science Fiction Bookclub has declared the racist, homophobic, "family first" writer Orson Scott Card Persona non grata. [Look here to find out why].
